Goal Reached 29/08/2012

Our daughter, Syona, is a spirited toddler who loves people and music. She also has cerebral palsy, which impacts her motor skills and speech.

When you have a child with special needs you tend to celebrate all the little wins that you previously took for granted. You build a community of people who share your fears, hopes and joys and become good friends. You also realize how challenging and expensive it can be to get the right gear in place so your child can be comfortable in their own home and continue to work towards therapy goals.

With the support of Ability Online we were to connect with other families online and get the financial support to start building a therapy room in our home, complete with a special treadmill where Syona can practice walking and stay active. We also purchased a specially designed dining chair so we can enjoy family dinners together rather than Syona being stuck in a highchair. An adapted toddler chair ensures that Syona can sit at a play table when other kids come over to play and a corner seat helps Syona stretch her legs so her muscles stay as healthy as possible.

Like any other parent, we want our child to be healthy and happy. Ability Online helps us achieve that goal and we are so proud to be part of such a strong community. Thank you.
